Oil Spill Analytical

A question we asked ourselves recently at work was: what are chemical dispersants?  All this talk in the news about using chemical dispersants in the gulf to deal with the growing oil spill has been very intriguing.  What if we were calling on to test for the presence of dispersants?  What would we be testing for?  Digging a little led me to an interesting site (http://www.itopf.com/spill-response/clean-up-and-response/dispersants/) which explained quite a bit about what they are using and what we would possibly have to test for.  An interesting read.
