November 1st is finally here, and for all the folks starting new projects or carrying over existing sites under the new BC Contaminated Sites Regulations (AKA BC CSR Stage 10 Omnibus updates), it’s go time! Based on industry feedback and the collective knowledge of our in-house Chemists, CARO has updated our standard packages to reflect the adjusted detection limits and additional parameters. The following list highlights the key changes to our most frequently requested packages.

PAHs
All of the usual suspects remain, and a few of the more ubiquitous parameters have been added to the routine package. An extended package is available upon request, for those sites requiring a more comprehensive list.
Phenols
We also now offer the option of extending your Phenols list to include the newly regulated hydroxyphenols; a subset of phenolic compounds that are determined on a site-specific basis.

Metals
Our detection limits have been updated to address the most stringent BC CSR regulatory limits, and all standard metals have been included. Looking for rare and/or speciated metals? We can help with that too! Contact us to learn more.
VOCs
In an effort to simplify the project-planning process and keep costs low, CARO’s standard VOC packages remain consistent with current industry demand. Many of the VOC parameters that previously existed under Schedule 10 were rarely requested, and were therefore not selected for inclusion in our standard VOC package. With help from a CARO Project Sidekick, these parameters can be added to custom packages on a project-by-project basis.
