CARO CALA Accredited For Asbestos

CARO has been providing Asbestos testing results to the public since the 1980s.  Recently we decided to expand our quality program to include accreditation to ISO 17025 / CALA accreditation standards for all Asbestos bulk samples such as Drywall, Insulation, Floor Tiles, and Vermiculite. This makes CARO one of just 8 laboratories in Canada to hold this certification. Although a quality control program has always been in place for our testing asbestos, CARO has taken the next step to ensure that we are complying with the highest standards in the industry.

Our accreditation aligns with the Work Safe BC Asbestos reporting guideline that strongly recommends that fiber testing be done at an accredited Asbestos laboratory. This will give you the confidence that your test results are backed by certified trained staff, a strong proficiency testing program, and a quality system that has been reviewed by external auditors.

We offer Asbestos through all of our locations and are the only local laboratory facility in the interior of BC that directly offers this service which gives our clients the advantage of either direct sample drop off or shorter delivery times for results in those regions.

CARO also offers prompt reports to prevent down time and delays in getting your project completed.  Results can be made available in 24 hours or less if requested (advance notice to confirm availability is required) with non-rush results available in 3-5 business days.

Samples should be collected by a qualified surveyor or consultant who is experienced in conducting asbestos hazard assessments. Please give our lab a call to discuss any specific requirements your project might need or to coordinate sample shipment details.

Bulk Asbestos

Please collect the sample in a secure bag. (Ziploc works the best) See the table below for the minimum required volume.  With your submission complete a chain of custody form to track your sample.
