RemTech was an excellent conference and we were able to meet with a lot of great people, be amazed by the Keynote speaker Dr. Jane Goodall and deliver a well received presentation.
We presented on the topic: “Siloxanes: Quantifying a New Emergent Pollutant in Water, Air and Soil” – Patrick Novak, CARO Analytical
Environment Canada has recently published a notice announcing the requirement for preparation and implementation of pollution prevention plans in respect to Siloxane D4 in industrial effluents at 17.3 ug/L. Siloxane D4 has been identified by Environment Canada and Health Canada as potentially having “long-term harmful effects on the environment or its biological diversity”, and as meeting the criteria of a persistent chemical in the environment (Environment Canada, 2012).
Other RemTech presentations for this year and subsequent years are available
Please Patrick or the CARO team (contact us) anytime if you would like to arrange further discussion on Siloxanes or your other analytical needs.
